There’s something about 5 Mount Street that makes your heart beat a little faster. It’s possibly the arrival at Mayfair’s favourite couture street with the likes of Lanvin, Celine, Christopher Kane and Oscar de la Renta, all within an arm’s reach. Our first stop – Nicholas Kirkwood!

With the studio right above – we have our fingers crossed to meet the designer himself!

When you enter the store, you are instantly hit with a distinctive leather and tobacco scent. The white washed walls give you a sense of space and minimalism, but that only lasts for about 20 seconds till you walk toward the shoe displays. And then all you see is extravagance, details and the signature Kirkwood pearls on the shoes. We are greeted with the Spring Summer 2017 collection.

The first thing to catch your eye is a beautiful diamond shaped shelving system with a black metal framework, designed by Kirkwood himself. This geometric structure almost overpowers you as you get on your heels to get a better look at the shoes!

On one corner of the store, sits a beautiful colour palette of loafers and mules along with fabric swatches – ready to be customized. We’re quite tempted at this point!

Toward the window display sits a majestic black crystal with artistically displayed Kirkwoods, almost like a sculpture! Renovated only in November 2016, this flagship store encapsulates everything modern with its geometric structures and floor design.
